According to the Saudi Gazette on May 3, 2024, the Saudi General Authority for Foreign Trade (GAFT) has begun an anti-dumping investigation into longitudinally welded circular cross-section stainless steel pipes imported from mainland China and Taiwan, China. This action is in compliance with the "Trade Remedies Law in International Trade" enacted on November 23, 2022.
The investigation is aimed at addressing concerns that these products could be dumped on the Saudi market, which could harm the domestic steel industry. The main purpose of this law and investigation is to protect Saudi domestic industry from the adverse effects of dumping and subsidized imports and to prevent a surge in such imports, thereby safeguarding the Saudi Arabia economic interests.
